“From the gold rush pioneers to the Spanish farmers to the hippies of the 60's, attracted by the unspoiled beauty and isolation of the Huerfano valley, people have been coming to Southern Colorado to start a new life.  They are steadfast in their love for the land, still determined to reject the system and cling to the once promised freedom of the wild west. “

Zoe Childerley , photographer and visual artist based in Sussex (UK), contacted me to edit her new project “Tha Land of Milk and Honey”, an impressive body of work which included also videos, maps and drawings, which she made during an artist residency at the Museum of Friends, Colorado (US).

Her amazing talent for environmental portraiture, coupled with excellent fine art landscape photography and her extensive research on the community she was documenting, made this project a real work of art and a joy for me to work on.
